The 103-meter-square house in southern Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province has foam insulated tole covering its exterior drywall, creating a minimalist shape.

The white layer of tole gives the house a bright, industrial look.

The garage, living room, dining room, kitchen, toilet, and one bedroom are on the first floor. Trees are planted in many spaces, while the brown shades of the furniture create a sense of coziness in this three-generation family abode.

An atrium allows natural light to enter, which also benefits the many plants inside the house.

From a solemn worship area for adults to the child-friendly safety net above the garage, the house is meant to provide tons of comfort.

Minimalist bedroom.

The owners wanted a small garden inside the house, so architects decided to plant trees in as many corners as possible. The greenery combines with windows and an atrium, affording the home more natural features.

Located on a 420 square meter plot, this house in central Nha Trang Town offers views of the oceans with the bay and mountains in the background.

Architect Pham Thi My An (MM++ architects) decided to maximize the number of bedrooms and entertainment experience to ensure residents have a memorable stay.

The house has two entrances. The first one is behind a stone fence and the second is an exterior staircase running to the higher deck with a swimming pool.

The pool level, the fourth, also has a high ceiling space that combines the kitchen, the dining area and the living room, with a pool table thrown in, for good measure. Above it is the fifth floor resembling a timber box with large five-storey house has two main parts. A high ceiling volume, glazed in the front and stone cladding in the back; and a timber box with large louvers.

The building uses its ground level as a garage and as a space for a 50-seat cinema behind in the back of the pool, not to mention spa facilities.

On the third floor, facing the cliff-side is a bedroom suite with a private garden and outdoor bathroom. A closer look at the fourth floor, which hosts the main space that combines the kitchen, dining and living room in a seamless connection with outdoor spaces via glass doors.

On the fourth floor are deck chairs that have a continuous view of the pool and the seascape.

The top floor has been used for bedrooms that have a system of glass doors and wooden shutters allowing the residents to decide how much light to let in. The house is on a large podium that gives it the needed height to get sea views over the street and residences in front.

The three-story house was built on a 147-square meter plot of land belongs to a young couple in the province. They use it for their homestay service. It only 200 meters from the beautiful An Bang beach, and has green, tranquil surroundings.

The real task for its three architects were how to make the most out of nature while also ensuring privacy for the owners and guests, and minimize construction cost.

Their solution was to limit the use of walls to reduce the cost. There are walls only where they are really necessary. The house has a stone fence with windows.

On the side of the ground floor are the kitchen and dining room that are completely open to the outdoors.

Instead of walls, blinds are used to keep the sun out.

The windows on the first floor are set deep into the walls to avoid direct sunshine, enabling energy saving.

The owners saved 20 percent on the cost for materials. Using more glass also meant the construction was completed a few months ahead of schedule.

Thanks to all the glass, the space between the inside and outside seems unbroken. From inside, guests can see the beach and forest.

If the first floor is for guests, the second floor is for the owners.

Their living space includes a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom which take up half the space. The other half is for a large balcony used for relaxing and sightseeing.

A small, minimalist bathroom has views of the nature outside.

Many traditional materials like wood, bamboo, tiles, and grindstone have been used to save cost and keep things simple. The house was featured on architecture website Archdaily.

The three-storied house in the Central Highlands town of Da Lat has a design which gives it two facades and no rear. The original house was with a family for years, but a son who returned to Da Lat after studying and working for sometime in Saigon decided to rebuild the house last year.

The owner wanted a house with a lot of light, not too retro, but fitting Da Lat architecture with its strong French colonial influences.

The first facade looks like a vintage luxury French villa with a white sparse fence and a wooden net that covers the front of the top floor.

The second facade, facing a residential area, wears a more casual look with bright walls and moderately small wooden windows behind the balcony and the gate.

The complex design of the house, which has a total area of 310 square meters, gives it six sides with no perpendicular angle.

The central space connects the functional rooms.

The void between floors provides great views of the valleys in Da Lat.

Just like the house design, the interior is a blend of the traditional and modern designs with wooden furniture and leather sofas.

The house has a fair share of doors and windows to allow plenty of natural light, as the owner wanted.

Each room and each corner has windows of different shapes and proportions.

The house continues to allow light to come in through openings in many places including the stairs.

The exterior of the house is paved with raw stone and hemp paint to absorb the light. It also has sloping roofs and thick double layered walls, using a variety of wood types for flooring and furniture to suit local climatic conditions.
